Notes: From the union of the power of Sangiovese (70%) and Sagrantino (15%), and the appeal of Merlot (15%) comes our Montefalco Rosso, the fruit of a happy marriage and the desire to create a variation on the theme of the Sagrantino wine.
The grapes are vinified separately and assembled only at the time of being placed in small oak barrels.
For the production of the Montefalco Rosso are given the same care you use for all of our top quality wines: selection of the grapes, careful destemming, fermentation in small stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature (about 28 °C).
The time of maceration on the skins vary from 18 to 22 days. In the end, the wine is placed in barriques of French oak, where it will be refined for approximately 12 months.
From San Fidenzio, Bishop and Martyr, from which it takes its name also to an Abbey built around the year 1000 near Massa Martana.
