Production area: the Vineyard Merlau south of Bolzano
Grapes: 100 Lagrein a short pedicel.
Age of the vines: 8 years
Type of Soil: Alluvial, with subsoil consisting of gravel coarser.
Vinification: After fermentation, the wine stop for 8-10 months in large oak barrels.
Ageing: the wine Is bottled in June, after 8 months in barrel. After 6 months in the bottle is presented at its best, and is maintained at those levels for 2-3 years.
Tasting notes: The color is intense red, almost purple in colour. The aromas are intense, very clean and crisp and evocative of the forest fruits such as raspberry and blackberry. Has the tannins present, well-rounded, the wine has body and a lot of freshness.
Alcohol Content: 12,5 % Vol.
Service temperature: 16° - 18° C.
Accompaniments: With first courses and white meat. Enhances the dishes of mushrooms. Roasts, game, aged cheeses and spicy.
