Vinification: After crushing and stemming of the grapes, the must ferments in contact with the skins for about 12-14 days at a controlled temperature. Below the wine is aged for 6-8 months in oak barrels.
From the deep ruby red color, the Merlot offers a nose with hints of berries and spices and a light note of vanilla, the taste is dry, harmonious, good freshness and persistence.
Degree of alcohol: 12.5% vol.
Service temperature: 18°-20° C
Pairings: At the dinner table, Merlot is happily married with meat, grilled meat and tasty cheese.
Notes: The Merlot is a black grape variety whose name derives from the particular predilection that the blackbird for its berries, is native to the Gironde, in the South-West of France, and in particular of the Bordeaux area from which they are born (in blends with Cabernet) some of the most prestigious wines in the world (Château Lafitte-Rothschild, Château Latour, Château Margaux,Petrus).
