Collio Doc Pinot Grigio 2017

Type of wine: dry white

Production Area: San Floriano del Collio (Gorizia)

Soil Composition: hilly, layers of clavey marl and sandstone, locally called “ponca”

Altitude: 230 m./above sea level

Average Age of the Vineyards: 18 years

Pruning System: guyot

Harvest:  August

Vineyards: without use of herbicides and treatments at low environmental impact

Vinification: grapes are harvested and selected manually and de-stemmed; the must is then left on the skins for 24 hours at controlled temperature of 10°C in stainless steel tanks; soft pressing and alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature of 16-18°C; on the lees for about 7 months in stainless steel tanks

Tasting Notes:

  • colour: slightly coppery, natural colour due to short maceration
  • nose: floral and fruity bouquet with notes of acacia, jasmine, toasted almonds, ginger, pink pepper, pear and apple
  • taste: round and mineral, fresh, lively, harmonious, creamy and intense

Note: low sulphite content, naturally stabilized
