Yeld per Hectare: 29 hl

Type of Soil: clavey-chalky with large rounded sun-warmed stones which diffuse a gentle providential heat that helps the grape to mature

Harvest: by hand with a selection of the best grapes

Vinification: grapes are sligthly crushed and placed in a fermentation concrete tank; long vatting time at controlled temperature for 21 days, with pumping-over and punching of the cap to obtain a reasoned extraction of tannins

Aging: 18 months in 400-liter oak barrels; then some months in bottle

Ageing Potential:  more than 15 years

Tasting Notes:

  • colour: violet
  • nose:  black fruits, cocoa, grilled meats, licorice and spices
  • taste: deep and powerful, rich and hearthy with armonious but persistant tannins; very long finish

Note: big wine for aging; in order to appreciate all its aromatic power, it is better to open the bottle and pour it in a carafe 2 hours before tasting
