Notes: The Fiano di Avellino takes the name from the ancient grape, also known as “Latin” as native to the area, to differentiate it from the Greco grape, imported. Plinio had named these grapes “ apiane ”, because preferred by the bees ("ape" in Italian language). Traditionally not widespread, it was usually planted between hazel groves
